Kikuyu Mystery Revealed: Descendants ...

UShs75,050.00
Book overview In Kikuyu Mystery Revealed, the author digs deeply into the hidden mysteries of the Kikuyu people of Kenya in East Africa, whom the author claims is one of the ten lost tribes of Israel, descendants of the tribe of Asher, exiled “…beyond the rivers of Ethiopia” (Zephaniah 3:10). The root word of the name of the tribe, Gikuyu, is the same as for the native Sycamore fig referred to in the Biblical account of the invasion and exile of the Northern Kingdom of Israel by the Assyrians. She relates the accounts of early western Christian missionaries to Kenya, who were amazed at the parallels between the Mosaic and Levitical laws in the Old Testament and Kikuyu history, culture, and traditions — especially their sacrificial and ceremonial practices. Isaiah prophesied God would appoint a Faithful Servant, the Spotless Lamb of God, to raise all the tribes of Israel from dry bones and restore the preserved remnant to Jeshurun, “upright Israel”. The Kikuyu Ituika Ceremony, wherein the leadership mantle was passed from one ruling generation of elders to the next, is an explicit type and prophetic reflection of Yeshua’s three years’ earthly ministry. The Kikuyu Second Birth Ceremony, in which all children must be born again by a Lamb, reflects the second birth that Yeshua discussed with Nicodemus. Reading Kikuyu Mystery Revealed and gaining the author’s perspective on how old Kikuyu traditions illuminate the new covenant will help one appreciate God’s gift of redemption. The reader will see a strong witness of the Messiah in a lost, exiled tribe and will grasp how Yeshua fulfilled the old covenant by reconciling it to the new.

I came from a poor family many people called us cursed. I knew it and everyone knew it. There was a problem in my family; no one seemed to go anywhere. My mother was taken to the hospital on a wheelbarrow where she died and my grandfather was taken to the hospital too on a wheelbarrow where he died, my brother was driven to the streets; he became a madman, those men you see carrying a sack while my fate was to die of cancer at 30 years of age but here I am. Free and beautiful. I am not telling you this because I need your pity. But because those shadows became my triumph; The shadows of pain, the shadows of rejection, the shadows of shame, the shadows of humiliation, the shadows of lack, the shadows of curses, the shadows of warfare These shadows have become my testimony. Each shadow I faced was lined with triumph. I am a woman of triumph. Through the pain, I have birthed 10 books, and 2 companies, I am a transformational speaker and a minister of God. Was the journey worth it? Find out.

SOUTH SUDAN – A Track of Neglec...

UShs144,050.00 UShs135,050.00
Historians agree that the making of modern Sudan began with the Turco-Egyptian conquest of the north in the 1820s. However, this book focuses on the periods from 1898 to 1983 and from 2005 to 2016. It covers the era of condominium rule (1899–1956), the Regional Government in Southern Sudan (1972–1983), and the time following the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in 2005 up until the renewed outbreak of fighting in South Sudan in July 2016. During the condominium period, the present borders of Sudan were established, and decisions made during this time significantly influenced North-South relations. The book also explores the political awakening of the Southern Sudanese, who, between 1972 and 1983, briefly experienced self-governance. In July 2011, South Sudan became an independent and sovereign state following a referendum in favour of secession. The SPLM, which was the ruling party in the South both before and after independence, is evaluated in the revised Chapter 16. This chapter assesses the party's performance in government from 2005 to 2016. Additionally, the book has been updated with major revisions: Chapter 2 has been rewritten, and the revised Chapter 16 has been renumbered as Chapter 17. Other chapters have also been revised with minor changes. About the Author Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of London (1980) and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Political Science by the University of Juba in 1999. As a member of the Council of the Khartoum University Teachers Union (KUTU) from 1984 to 1986, he played a key role in organizing and executing the March/April Uprising that led to the fall of the Nimeiri regime in 1985. Following this, he and his colleagues founded the Sudan African Congress (SAC), which won two seats in the Constituent Assembly elections in 1986. In the same year, he joined the field of combat and was appointed an alternate member of the Political-Military High Command of the SPLM/SPLA. The Village Pariah by Imali J. Abala

UShs30,050.00 UShs24,050.00
The Village Pariah, narrated in verse, dramatizes the story of Rosie Kasovo, a beautiful and lonely woman from Ngoroke village. Abandoned by her husband shortly after their marriage when he secures a job in the city, her striking beauty unwittingly becomes her double-edged sword, inviting relentless scrutiny from the people of Ngoroke. Every action she takes falls under their watchful gaze. Despite her sincere efforts to contribute positively to the common good of the community, her deeds are met with skepticism. As the accusations and betrayal against her mount, one question remains: will Rosie be able to emerge from this ordeal unscathed, or will she crumble under the weight of her village’s judgment? What Others Say The Village Pariah is a remarkable book illustrating how beauty was once believed to guarantee happiness and a seamless life, yet for Rosie, a Logooli woman, it has become a barrier, a pariah wall, isolating her from the community. Strangely, the fate of the entire village appears intertwined with hers, their destinies woven into the fabric of their relentless gossip. Into this tangled web steps Eliab, a man lacking noble standing but propelled by the villagers’ whispered truths, determined to confront her. If his impulsive action can mend their afflictions, both tangible and perceived and liberate the unfortunate souls ensnared by her charm, then so be it. - Alfred Nyagaka Nyamwange, English/Literature Teacher and Deputy Principal at Bon’gota Secondary School.

AGAINST THE ODDS: LIFE OF AFRICAN MIG...

UShs75,050.00 UShs63,050.00
The lives of African migrant workers in Europe are a multifaceted narrative marked by challenges, resilience, and aspiration. Departing from their homelands in search of better economic prospects and opportunities, these individuals embark on journeys fraught with uncertainties and hardships. Upon arrival, they often encounter a complex web of legal, social, and economic barriers that shape their experiences in their host countries. For many African migrants, the pursuit of employment is paramount. However, they frequently encounter obstacles in accessing the labor market due to language barriers, lack of recognition for foreign qualifications, and discriminatory hiring practices. Consequently, a significant portion of African migrants find themselves relegated to low-wage, precarious jobs in sectors such as agriculture, construction, hospitality, and domestic work. Moreover, the issue of legal status looms large over the lives of African migrants. Many grapple with the complexities of immigration laws, facing the constant threat of deportation or detention. Those residing in Europe without legal documentation often live in the shadows, vulnerable to exploitation, abuse, and marginalization. Social integration presents another formidable challenge. African migrants often confront xenophobia, racism, and cultural alienation in their host communities. These social barriers hinder their ability to establish meaningful connections, access services, and participate fully in civic life. Additionally, maintaining ties with their home countries and navigating the complexities of transnational identities further shape their sense of belonging and cultural identity. Despite these adversities, African migrant communities demonstrate remarkable resilience and resourcefulness. They forge networks of support within their own communities and engage in grassroots organizing to advocate for their rights and interests. Cultural associations, religious institutions, and migrant-led organizations play crucial roles in providing social solidarity, legal aid, and educational resources. Amidst the challenges, African migrant workers in Europe also embody hope and aspiration. Many strive to build better futures for themselves and their families, sending remittances back home and investing in education and entrepreneurship. Their experiences underscore the interconnectedness of global migration, labor markets, and social justice, highlighting the need for inclusive policies and collective action to address the structural inequalities that shape their lives.
