Twenty-four-year-old Veronika seems to have everything she could wish for: youth and beauty, pleny of attractive boyfriends, a fulfilling job, and a loving family. Yet something is lacking in her life. Inside her is a void so deep that nothing could possibly ever fill it. So, on the morning of November 11, 1997, Veronika decides to die. She takes a handful of sleeping pills expecting never to wake up.
Naturally Veronika is stunned when she does wake up at Villete, a local mental hospital, where the staff informs her that she has, in fact, partially succeeded in achieving her goal. While the overdose didn't kill Veronika immediately, the medication has damaged her heart so severely that she has only days to live.
The story follows Veronika through the intense week of self-discovery that ensues. To her surprise, Veronika finds herself drawn to the confinement of Villete and its patients, who, each in his or her individual way, reflect the heart of human experience. In the heightened state of life's final moments, Veronika discovers things she has never really allowed herself to feel before: hatred, fear, curiosity, love, and sexual awakening. She finds that every second of her existence is a choice between living and dying, and at the eleventh hour emerges more open to life than ever before.
In Veronika Decides to Die, Paulo Coelho takes the reader on a distinctly modern quest to find meaning in a culture overshadowed by angst, soulless routine, and pervasive conformity. Based on events in Coelho's own life, Veronika Decides to Die questions the meaning of madness and celebrates individuals who do not fit into patterns society considers to be normal. Poignant and illuminating, it is a dazzling portrait of a young woman at the crossroads of despair and liberation, and a poetic, exuberant appreciation of each day as a renewed opportunity.

LIVING A FRUITFUL LIFE! So much to say about it this book. It’s not just a one-off read. I found it to be a guidebook of sorts… I re-read a chapter whenever I need revamping & rejuvenation. A classic masterpiece written in the most authentic style ever.
The font is also eye-friendly.
Get your hands on this gold mine!

A powerful book where the author describes his life experiences and relates it to the word of God. The words in this book have blessed and spoken to my soul. The chapter on putting God first is the epitome. Looking forward to more from Mike in the near future. Enjoy the adventure!

This is a must have, for christians, I like how bible stories are related to life skills. This is mixture of memoir, inspiration and leadership hacks.

Great storytelling – Michael articulates his journey with great art and skill. His experiences, laced with his ideological and spiritual background are a much needed help for many young people looking for a compass. I commend the book to anyone in search of their own story – or with the ear for a lonely idea.

Just as the engine must be cared for if a car is going to function well over the long haul, the heart must be cared for if we are going to flourish over the long haul. And just as the engine powers the vehicle, so the heart drives all that we do. The heart is the motivation headquarters, the central animating core of all our longings, fears, and actions.
Y’all this is the right book to read. Helps you nourish and even achieve your purpose in life. Get yourself a copy!!!

Reading chapter 3 me feel like I have lived a mediocre life, wasted time doing nonsense , especially in campus and that time will sadly never come back
And when you finish by saying we should be careful to do something in our generation I only wonder what I can stand out for
It got me into some deep thinking
And also got that special book of ideas😅

I have read the book and my most amazing chapter was chapter 4 on treasuring your life experiences as I believe in life one can choose to stay up in the comfy victim chair coz it suits them well all the time as it gets comfortable. One can choose to always complain for example it ain’t getting well for me coz this person did this to me, it ain’t getting well for me coz I don’t know who my father is,it ain’t getting well for me coz my mom was not always there for me and then you sit in this chair 20,30,40 years from now and you realize your soul and spirit getting eaten alive because you are still sitting in the victim chair.
At some point you have to make a decision to get out of the victim chair and shed this thing but you have to accept life as it comes together with the the cards that are dealt to you.

Living a Fruitful Life asks us to dispel our fears and listen to our inner voices. Michael assures us that perseverance and hope is the only way to success. That trusting in God and doing His will is a virtue that we should carry all along the success journey.
I must also say that the language used in this book is as strong as the message.
Kudos Mike!

This book, ‘Living a Fruitful Life’ asserts the power of listening to ones inner voice. Michael assures us that if we believe and pray to God, then whatever we desire will be given unto us. I would recommend this book to anyone who feels that they have ‘lost it all’ in life or someone who is at a crossroad on making that very important decision in life.
I must also say that the language used in this book is as strong as the message. Kudos Mike!

Living a fruitful life is one of those books you read and keep by your bedside table or day bag for reference, I always want it within reach all the times, it has basically become my daily guide, my most read chapter is 6, this chapter has totally changed my patience with God.
And yes! There is a prayer on page 86, when in doubts, it is my first stop. On my first encounter, I read it thrice 😃.
Can’t wait to read more publications by the author.
