The unclothed body is grounded in the everyday experience of both men and women and holds witness to the beautiful and crude side of being one and the other. the collection is divided in to four chapters body, heart, feet, Spine; each dealing with different kind of experiences and grief. “The body” explores endurance and how essential endurance is in the face of abuse, Loss, toxic masculinity and self-love.
“The heart” is about falling in love and falling out of love; it’s about desperately yearning Something that’s not intended for you, hence the pain it brings. but its also about forgiving yourself. “The feet” Covers healing and is full of Self love, hope, forgiveness, freedom from shame and Courage to grow beyond our traumas. “The spine” honors what it means to be African and traces back to our roots. It shows the power of our genesis and how it shapes our entire lives.
The Unclothed body is a commemoration of what it means to be Vulnerable and how there is Strength in openness. The book Sparks a Conversation, like therapy. It’s the pillar needed to heal our Inner traumas.
