Structure of the Book:
Throughout the course of this book, I have endeavoured to adhere to the first principles of thinking, which involves breaking down complex issues into their most basic and fundamental parts.
And for those of you who are allergic to numbers, you’ll be excited to know that I have avoided (as much as possible) the use of formulas and financial ratios in order to simplify the content and make it easy to understand.
In this regard, I have structured the content of this book into three main parts:
Part I: The Fundamentals:
This covers the basic concepts and fundamental ideas that underpin the operation of the financial markets. The aim here is to use the concept of first principles thinking, which
involves breaking down complex issues into their most basic and fundamental parts.
Part II: The Major Financial Markets:
Here, we focus on the major financial markets (forex, stocks, bonds, commodities, etc.) and provide a broad but detailed overview of how these markets operate.
Part III: Financial Market Stories: I perused the history books to bring you the stories that have had the most profound and lasting impact on the financial markets. The idea here is to learn from the past so that we can avoid repeating the same mistakes in the future.
