Contrary to popular belief, success is not just about becoming rich and famous. Chérie Carter-Scott, Ph.D., realizes that everyone has their own personal definition of success, whether it be to run a business, raise healthy, happy children, have more spare time, get good grades, or become President of the United States. In If Success Is a Game, These Are the Rules, Chérie addresses the issues at the heart of a meaningful and successful life. She helps you define what success means to you, and then tells you in ten simple rules how you can achieve it.
Chérie learned the rules of success firsthand: she built her management consulting firm to serve top clients around the world, including IBM and GTE. Her books, including the #1 New York Times bestseller If Life Is a Game, These Are the Rules, touch hundreds of thousands of readers. And despite a calendar that shuttles her through dozens of time zones annually, she keeps her family close and connected.
With rules as clear as "Self-trust is essential" and "Your actions affect your outcome," Chérie guides readers step-by-step through all the various challenges on the path to success. From finding your true calling to discovering the riches abundant in day-to-day routines, to recognizing opportunities and managing your resources, If Success Is a Game, These Are the Rules is both inspirational and practical. Chérie explains the importance of having a vision but also the importance of setting realistic goals. She provides tools to help you identify your gifts but also tools to help manage your time. She shows you how to believe in yourself but also how to cultivate relationships with others. Success can be a difficult and precarious journey, but once we understand what our goals are and the ways that both advances and setbacks can work for us, we can begin to move closer to what we want, and to grow as individuals.
Illuminated with motivational and personal stories, and written in Chérie's warm, engaging tone, If Success Is a Game, These Are the Rules is the perfect guide for your journey as you seek to fulfill all your dreams.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It has an easy flow that any reader can appreciate. The writer also give practical and helpful suggestions if not steps on how one can overcome RADS as he calls it. I must admit it has inspired me to examine my resignation and take the steps in the book towards living a present and life full of purpose. Towards the end, he finishes with a rewrite of one of my favorite quotes by Viktor Frankl “Life Went. Anyway, what we have despite everything is the power to choose, decide and reinterpret our stories giving it meaning.

BOOK REVIEW by Vincent Ogutu
BOOK TITLE: PREPSH antidote to RADS by M.D. Njiru Pgs 64
The title appears to be gibberish until you start turning the pages of this wonderful book. The challenging title you soon discover is a code in managing mental health challenges. I was amazed by how vulnerable the author is at communicating his life experiences some quite traumatic. The book is organized in six chapters that leave the reader asking for more. The author is a skilled wordsmith, a story teller and you get the feel that he is widely read.
The book starts with a personal story of attempted suicide. The journey to the suicide mission was well planned and execution was a sure bet. After the jump he wondered why people become wet in heaven. The mission had aborted. He did not drown; the water level had conspired to a new low level than normal at the dam. The author takes the reader through different aspects of mental health from resignation, anxiety, depression and suicide thoughts (RADS).
Moreover, it is not enough just to understand mental health challenges. The author recommends some practical interventions namely prayer, reading, exercise, pursuing purpose, operating with a schedule and lastly humour as some interventions that have worked at different levels of mental health challenges. Seeking help, talking to trusted friends are additional recommendations by the author.
The author asserts that mental health is real, common and widely misunderstood. Indeed on his way to the suicide mission two people engaged with him and all appeared normal. No one could suspect he was on a suicide mission.
Indeed it takes a lot of courage to share life experiences. This is raw, engaging and as real as it can get. I highly recommend this book. It will help the reader to know what to do in case a family member is experiencing RADS and how to help.
The book is available at Nuria Bookstore 0729 829 697 and directly from the author, M.D Njiru.
