The author entitles the book, The Empty Calabash in figurative language which takes the reader through some events which degrades the society and its values rather than bringing the fullness. When the values are upheld, the Calabash is full whereas when they are neglected it render to the emptiness of the Calabash.
The author critically addresses these issues and their effects to the society. He asks the readers to continue embracing the positive values of the society while advocating for a change of lifestyle that will uphold our values.
Any activity in the society ought to make society a better place to live. A society growth to reach its epitome, all and sundry must work towards adding value. The contrary connotes emptiness of the calabash. Positive results brings the fullness of values and negative results brings emptiness of the Calabash. If the society check and change on their lifestyle that degenerates the society, then there will be abundance that shows the completeness of the society.
