Charles Mwangi grew up in Nyeri County, on the foothills of Mount Kenya, where the fig trees rustled in the wind and Thagana River flowed peacefully. Only that when it rained did the river quickly turn into one murky force and the trees groaned and the trout floated downstream with their bellies up.
Mwangi was first published in the anthology More Than Meets the Eye. Unsettled is his first individually published book. Most of the stories here are based on the haunting landscapes of Nyeri.
