Every gifted person is a builder. However, every builder has to pay the ultimate bill of greatness—the bill of withstanding the pressure of being gifted. In an age and time where micro-wave success is celebrated, it is only those who have sustained the pressure of being gifted that are going to have a generational impact. If the world is going to drink from your cistern as a leader, entrepreneur, professional, or generational influencer, then you must be willing to dig deeper in order to build higher. The storms will come, and the wind will blow. The only building that will stand is one whose foundation has been dug deeper and reinforced effectively.
The purpose of this book is to give you the courage to glean from your past and build a life that will inspire generations to come. As one who has built a life from the rubbles that were left after a torturous life experience—surviving gender-based violence, meeting my biological father after 21 years, experiencing serial failure, contemplating suicide, and much more—my story stands as a signpost to tell you, “You’re on the right path, and there is nothing wrong with you. Keep on moving and building.”
I have seen what God can do with a life that is totally surrendered. I have met people I used to admire, shook hands with, and had fireside chat conversations with them. I have sat at decision-making tables, founded successful organizations, become an award-winning mentor, and much more because I kept on building.
So I come walking beside you to tell you, “Build up!”
Enjoy the read.
