I Came to Gather Rosebuds is a diary of a mad man struggling to think straight, written in the form of short rhymes, free verse, some limericks, some villanella and pantoums.
It purports to tell the story of a mad man who came to gather rosebuds. Now mad men have a reputation of telling unlikely tales, is this one any different?

Wilson Musebe –
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I couldn’t put it down, those poems are so well written. I could relate with some of the poems so well felt I like the poet was speaking to me directly, I especially liked “Smile, Blackie”. I that is his best poem so far.
Akinyi –
This book is a warm bonfire on a cold night. Its comfort a warm cup of cocoa, the words enveloping around your soul in the ways only a loving touch can, holding you tenderly while setting you free – ready to be or soar,in freedom with love.
That is not to be misunderstood that it’s all rosy. Nay. It addresses the whole spectrum of the human condition – and if a life is a bed of roses,it talks of the thorns too. But it talks of the thorns in the way that not only offers healing in it’s catharsis, but with a dispel of the old fear of not letting yourself enjoy the petals and scents of life,in fear they will be blown away.
In short, these poems celebrate you to Live,Feel,Care,Wail,Grief,Cherish,Question,Think, and just welcome yourself back to the Wonder that is the human experience.
Go read the book, and see if you won’t celebrate it the same, plus the EXCELLENCE of his writing.
