Contrary to popular belief, success is not just about becoming rich and famous. Chérie Carter-Scott, Ph.D., realizes that everyone has their own personal definition of success, whether it be to run a business, raise healthy, happy children, have more spare time, get good grades, or become President of the United States. In If Success Is a Game, These Are the Rules, Chérie addresses the issues at the heart of a meaningful and successful life. She helps you define what success means to you, and then tells you in ten simple rules how you can achieve it.
Chérie learned the rules of success firsthand: she built her management consulting firm to serve top clients around the world, including IBM and GTE. Her books, including the #1 New York Times bestseller If Life Is a Game, These Are the Rules, touch hundreds of thousands of readers. And despite a calendar that shuttles her through dozens of time zones annually, she keeps her family close and connected.
With rules as clear as "Self-trust is essential" and "Your actions affect your outcome," Chérie guides readers step-by-step through all the various challenges on the path to success. From finding your true calling to discovering the riches abundant in day-to-day routines, to recognizing opportunities and managing your resources, If Success Is a Game, These Are the Rules is both inspirational and practical. Chérie explains the importance of having a vision but also the importance of setting realistic goals. She provides tools to help you identify your gifts but also tools to help manage your time. She shows you how to believe in yourself but also how to cultivate relationships with others. Success can be a difficult and precarious journey, but once we understand what our goals are and the ways that both advances and setbacks can work for us, we can begin to move closer to what we want, and to grow as individuals.

I was undergoing through some financial difficulties in life until I came across this book. It encouraged me to soldier on like the characters mentioned therein.
The book is well articulated with real life relatable stories of success after failure.

THE COMEBACK by Vincent Ogutu
I am done reading The Comeback. My take” it’s awesome, inspiring, awakening, educative, entertaining, challenging and all the good names that can be used to describe something good.
Was amazed by the statement that you have to “vacate the crime scene and leave it to gossipers and the witnesses” . Many times we build mansions at the crime scene and our lives stagnate/stall.
It’s a good book I would recommend it to all who care. I will put what I have learnt to practice.
But I also expected to hear your story or is it in another book?
God bless you and keep up the good work. Am glad I made the decision to purchase the book. What I have learnt is worth more than the price .
Have a blessed evening. Dr. Virginia W. (Phd).

BOOK REVIEW: THE COMEBACK
by Vincent Ogutu
If you are going through hell, keep going.
Life is a journey, not a destination and as such, as is required of journeys, one has to believe that they will reach their destination.
Belief is an essential part, a hope that the dream will be achieved.
Like a guiding star, one should never lose hope in life. Soon, the new dawn will be realized.
Vincent Ogutu’s new book, The Comeback is written for the ones who are going through a tough time. It is written to motivate the inner workings of the souls through stories of conquering adversity.
To conquer adversity, one needs to first acknowledge and understand the crisis they are in, believe again to make a new start even in the face of insurmountable odds, make good choices through focus, and become unrelenting in the new energy toward one goal.
Because, truthfully, when one is at the bottom, the only way becomes up.
The Comeback by Vincent Ogutu accounts the journey of various individuals mostly Kenyans, their spectacular wins from despair. Must Read. –Ekoroi Book Review.
Taming anxiety and gaining confidence, even if it is a feigned confidence; one is able to conquer new ground no matter how battered they were by life’s trials.
The naked truth is that life is a harsh place, you will get knocked down at every turn. Don’t let it keep you down.
A growth mindset is a friend at this time.
The author shares accounts of people’s lives.
Real stories of real people.
“Life cannot be left to chance despite challenges. Count on the small wins to create momentum. The journey of failure, rejection and pain equips one with lessons on the true meaning of life,” Ogutu’s overarching message lights up the night sky.
It’s not easy to pick any particular outstanding life account as shared on the book, as all are very motivating.
The book builds a crescendo as the preceding story is just as great as the previous.
Nonetheless, Fred’s resilience, and reinventing himself to international recognition, despite being born in tough conditions in Kibera slums, is commendable; Bulle’s resolve to pick up and restart businesses is adorable; Jalang’o’s confidence, a man without papers conquering till he became a member of Parliament is praiseworthy; George Wachiuri’s account of from poverty, to determination through great savings culture and pulling himself from a huge setback of stolen millions to one of the best real estate magnates is very beautiful, and Derrick Gathirimu’s descent into the abyss of drug abuse, his comeback is one of the best accounts.
Written in first person, Gathirimu’s account shows how resilient the human spirit is and why the mindset is the major turnaround factor in anyone’s life.
I recommend you start from chapter 14. There are many more motivating stories but read this first.
Don’t succumb to self-pity, get up again and again, and win.
Isn’t this reason enough to get the book and read for yourself?
