Set against the turbulent backdrop of between 1980-2015, The Merchant of Death tells a story of a young man who beats all odds to make it in life. In his struggles against poverty, discrimination and social segregation he detests violence until the system churns him out totally transformed. He secretly joins the military and after the initial training, he briefly leaves the country to undergo further specialized training abroad.
The Merchant of Death opens with the recently widowed, Kenny, thinking about recent events that takes him by surprise. He thinks of the future and if he has all it takes to raise his daughter. Unknown to him, his involvement with the dreaded military squad comes back to haunt him. He has to figure a way out or be consumed by the vices he vowed to fight against.
This is a fast-moving narrative with a subtle commentary about the fate of gallant soldiers, power, politics, poverty and education. At its heart is the fight against corruption.
