Abolish Everything: A Poetic Manifest...

KShs700.00
This debut collection of poems by Sungu Oyoo marshals the creative expressions of the social and human rights activists amongst us. Our current times have witnessed unrelieved creative turbulences by comrades in the pursuit of just social order. These turbulences have mostly found expression in poetry—often in pithy, poignant and urgent forms of creative outbursts. The results have been varieties of poetry as spaces of resistance, struggle, and liberation. The resulting poems are the new barrels of the gun expressing anguish, yearnings, love, hopes and dreams of a new generation fervently seeking order, stability and justice, not only for themselves but for fellow comrades, families and society. These poets show that the new generation of comrades is not only emerging from relative obscurity as once prophesied by Franz Fanon, but that their voices have arrived and taken centre stage in the struggle, redefining the times fast-forwarding the past, and bringing the future today. Tomorrow is here; look no further. Ours is only to applaud these fresh and vibrant voices in people’s struggles, not as mere observers or cheerleaders, but as comrades at arms. Where poems clear the way and new vistas in the struggle, comrades stand at ease and continue to wage the battle against want, our fighting spirits being well-fed and replenished by word and action. This volume heralds their expressions as current and future voices through activist poetry and prose under the banner stewardship of Comrades Bookhouse.

Unmasking LGBTQ- Lies, Gambles, Biase...

KShs850.00 KShs800.00
The LGBTQ movement has given us a front of rainbows, sparkles, lovely music, and cute boys on TV series. But is that the reality? The biases of pop culture are being pushed down the throats of the masses by Hollywood, the legacy media, and Western nations, and it is increasingly getting harder to speak up about this movement. Conveniently, the uncomfortable truths concerning the devastating impact of the lifestyle have been ignored like the proverbial elephant in the room. Meanwhile, many false narratives are taking centre stage in our world. Unmasking LGBTQ offers information to the curious person seeking to understand what lurks in the inner sanctums of this movement. It equips the modern parent who is confused about how to have this unavoidable conversation with their children. It enlightens mentors, coaches, and spiritual leaders by offering poignant answers to the questions that their followers are asking. It offers hope for restoration to the person confused about their sexual identity, while calling for the restoration of biblically healthy masculinity and femininity. This book offers a unique blend of beneficial research, sound biblical reflections, and clear moral direction to a truth-starved generation that has lost its identity in sexual sin.

Campus Diaries by J. B Omukangala

This is a bare tale of life on campus where many students finally get the chance to swim in freedom as adults. This book explores sexual relationships amongst students and between students and workers within or around the institutions. For instance, Richi suddenly becomes a fearless philanderer after joining campus. He enters into many short relationships with the sole purpose of exploring girls sexually. He ends up marrying Kajuju, a woman who was just preying on him unaware that he was the real predator. However, he doesn't stop being a philanderer; he impregnates a first-year student at KIMC and vanishes. He also rekindles his illicit relationship with NyarSiaya, a married woman who was once his girlfriend on campus. Some, like Bobo, are saved but also want to enjoy being laid regularly. Since serving two masters is difficult, they choose what is easier, exciting and enjoyable, thus leaving the altar for clubs and dingy rooms. This doesn’t have a happy ending as some of them end up pregnant, addicted to drugs or seriously heartbroken for having high expectations and being too ambitious. The dating scene at campus is dominated by emotions, temporary excitements and curiosity to try new things. Therefore, peer pressure, material possessions and power play a significant role in deciding who dates who and for how long. In this case, one’s character is disregarded or overshadowed by power and material possessions. Nonetheless, we have students who date with purpose and decorum and end up building families. Others, like Sammy wa Jesus, abstain from sexual relationships and focus on their studies and serving in church. This also pays off for those who genuinely choose to walk the path. Campus Diaries is a mesmeric novel that will not only make you smile as you watch the characters in action, but will also get you onto several cliffs of pleasure and desires.

The unmarked grave and other stories

The unmarked grave and other stories is a collection of mostly factual and a few fictitious stories handed down to me by my late grandmother. Though fictional there's a clear lesson that's still applicable in our modern day society. All other factual stories e.g the wingless butterfly, killed by love and holier than thou happened in the author's life and environment. By documenting all those unfortunate events requires the society to acknowledge and act on them to get an amicable solution.

For years I faced severe difficulties and spiritual warfare. I tried to find personal testimonies of people who were facing any form of spiritual warfare. I found some but I desired more. I begun to write my own experiences not knowing that one day they would become a series of books. In this book, I highlight some of the weapons I encountered in spiritual warfare, what is their effect and prayers against them. Who Should Read Break the Cycles Individuals seeking to destroy delay, stagnation, rejection and generation curses in their lives and family. Those who have been hidden and have been contending for a longtime in spiritual warfare. Those individuals who have been waiting for the manifestation of a God-given dream or Vision. Those individuals whom God has called and feel they have been hidden in the womb of the spirit. Individuals seeking to understand the strategies and devices of the enemy.
